WARNING

BEFORE WORKING ON THE DRYER UNPLUG IT! DRYERS TYPICALLY RUN ON 240 VOLTS. ALSO ITS A GOOD IDEA TO WEAR GLOVES WHEN WORKING INSIDE OF THE DRYER AS THE METAL CAN BE SHARP!

Remove The Top Of The Dryer

The top of the dryer is held on with two retaining clips. These clips are positioned approximately 5-6 inches from the side of the dryer’s edge.  Using a paint scraper or flat head screwdriver pushing these clips in will disengage them and allow to top to pull up.

Remove The Top 3 Screws

The front of the dryer is held on by 3 Philips head screws. Remove them and move on to step 3 to finish removing the screws that hold the front of the dryer on.

Remove Front 2 Screws

Remove the two remaining screws circled in red. These are the last screws holding the front of the dryer on.  Once you remove them go to step 4.

Remove The Front Of The Dryer

There are two tabs to the left and right of where you unhooked the top of the dryer in step 1.  Using a flat-head screwdriver disengage these tabs.  The front will come forward.  Be sure to disconnect the dryer light.  Lift up on the front and remove it from the dryer.

Heating Element Location

The heating element assembly is located on the lower right side bottom of the dryer. It is held in place by 6 wires and one screw.

Disconnecting The Wires

Make Sure You’ve Unplugged The Dryer Before Performing This Step.

Before removing any wires take a picture of the wires with your phone.  You can use this photo as a reference when you go to reconnect the wires.   There are 6 wires to disconnect.  Be careful when disconnecting the two wires that are encased in porcelain as you can easily break the porcelain.

Remove Coil Assembly From The Bracket

Remove the Phillips head screw circled in red.  Lift up on the assembly. Then pull it forward to disengage it from the back wall of the dryer.

Tilt The Assembly Left

With the assembly removed from the bracket tilt it to the left, toward the wires you just disconnected. This will allow you to remove the bracket that held the assembly up.

Removing The Mounting Bracket

Remove the two Phillip head screws circled in red.  Then tilt the bracket back and lift up on it to remove it from the bottom of the dryer.

Remove The Coil Assembly From The Dryer

After removing the bracket from the dryer you can now pull the entire assembly out of the front of the dryer.
